Current Project: Albion, Maine
The owner of this 24’x36’ Circa 1850 hand hewn barn commissioned us to restore the frame and wanted to reuse as many of the original timbers as was practical. Our job includes dismantling the structure, tagging the useable timbers and designing the new barn.
Setting the underpinnings and pouring the piers was also done by Kennebec Timber Framing.
We cut and milled spruce trees to use as roof purlins, cutting them with a “live edge” to replicate the original. Our customer had a large cedar that he wanted to “work into” the frame as well.
We are now in the process of cutting the frame and plan on raising it in June.

Our Sawmill
Our sawmill has been making plenty of sawdust over the last few months. We put the extension on and now we can saw logs up to 33’ long. By hand selecting logs, we can have a greater control over the quality of the timbers that go into our Frames.

Insulated Panels
The insulated panel portion of our business continues to grow. With the high price of heating oil, people are looking for ways to conserve energy.
